Los Angeles, CA - March 22, 2008 -- HIN Los Angeles is widely considered the biggest and best event on the "Hot Import Nights" tour. People come from great distances to bring their cars out to compete at this event. One would assume that this would be a great event for select myMBonline group members to show at and introduce other enthusiasts to our community.

The myMBonline group faced many challenges with getting our cars into this event. Luckily, after making countless phone calls, we were finally able to get all of our cars and equipment into the convention center.

"When there's a will, there's a way."

Overall, the show had a great turnout of cars with everything from tricked out Imports to tastefully modified Exotics. The limited amount of lighting available to analyze some of these stunning cars is a considered as a negative to some. This has always made me question if this show is really about the cars or mainly for the girls? Not that I am complaining as I am an enthusiast of both! It would only be fair to say, that it seems like most of the attendees go for the girls first with the cars trailing in a distant second by being overshadowed with the abundance of eye candy floating around.

So what was new at this particular HIN LA event?

Well, that'll depend on who you ask.

A new rule was rolled out at this event requiring cars left overnight to have their hoods propped open. And, of course, with any new rule changes that are implemented without much thought, communication of this new rule to many of the show’s participants was poorly coordinated. Many of the car owners weren't aware of the rule change and got disqualified from competition. Undoubtedly, many believed this petty rule dulled the event and the highest level of competition was not maintained this time around as some of the best cars at the event weren’t even competing in their respective categories.

Regardless of the technicalities, congratulations to those who placed and went home with trophies.
