Got tired of bending my 3 piece custom cut wheels and got the itch to design a new wheel so I decided to make these new 2 piece ones. Just wanted to see what everyone thought of them. Size is 20x9 and 20x11. Satin Black Centers with Gloss Black Lips with Titanium Fasteners. Tires are 255/30 F and 295/25 R. Thinking of offering these to the public instead of just being one-offs. _________________

I've heard of a few companies who make custom designed wheels, but I'm curious to hear any info as well from someone who's actually tried it. _________________

yeah really. i wonder if its as simple (i say simple because it sounds simple but for those familiar with the program they will probably laugh) as drawing them up in solidworks _________________

Well. It's a bit complicated. I've been managing wheel design for quite some time now (since 2000) so I've made some contacts through the years and I'm looking to relaunch my RO-JA brand which I've had for quite some time. Basically you can render a wheel design yourself or have an artist do it and then you have to find a manufacturer to make them. They turn it into CAD data and then make them for you. 3 piece and 2 piece wheels are the easiest to do since there are many people out there with CNC machines that will cut out a design from standard forgings that are already available (which saves super high tooling cost). This is what most people do - they take an existing forging profile and create a design that can be milled out of that profile. Once that is done you must have someone paint the wheels and assemble them to the specs of your particular vehicle. There is a lot more to it than that but in a nutshell that's what happens. Most manufacturers won't let you just make one set. Many times you have to commit to a minimum order along with some sort of set up cost for the design and engineering. Hope that helps. _________________

Yesir. That would be Rocket Bumper with ASMA side fenders. Rest of the kit is Brabus except for the front grill which is also ASMA. Think the ASMA guys may be out of business though. This set up except for the wheels was done back in March 2007. Car has held up decently well. Just painted the front bumper a couple of times as the LA roads and rocks have not been kind. Interior is pretty done up as well. _________________

How much will you be selling them to the public for? Will they be available for the GLK for all of us GLK outcasts? Could we get a MYMB discount since we're family now?.....hahaha _________________

RJ Devera formerly of Team Kosoku? Wow...long time since i've heard your name. Everyone i know from back in da days seems to be doing well. Do you remember me..James from Demonic Speed? You used to go to Cookie Graphics in Tujunga for your stickers in da early 90's. Oh well. it's good to see you have done well for yourself. I must have been living under a rock or something, everyone else tells me you have been doing lots of projects since da Import days. Da wheels look dope and your CLS is dope. See you around at one of da shows bruddah!
Aloha,

I just saw your car this morning on Edinburgh Ave. in Hollywood. I was at friends house and spent the night and when I left your car was parked across the street. But it could have been a carbon copy as well because i didn't pay attention to the calipers. _________________

I saw the same car one night in Hollywood on Edinburgh Ave. There's a lot of CLS's in LA with the same or similar mods. But the wheels are pretty damn close if you look closely. _________________

Please don't judge me haha but I've known Ryan Jenkins, the alleged murderer since High School. He's from Calgary Canada. His dad is a prominent architect and designed my family house when I was a kid.
I saw this on the news when I was in LA this weekend, then I get home last night, check Calgary news online when dad emails me saying Ryan is in trouble....uh oh....
He was a really nice guy but his extreme nature makes it relatively easy to see how something like this could happen.
